Your data
The data the researcher collects about you remains confidential. The researcher saves it using a code. That code is then used in reports about the research. Data can only be traced back to you using the key to the code. This key is kept safely in the local research institution.
Access to your data
Only a couple of people other than the researcher can access your data. These people check whether the research is of a good quality and reliable. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) stipulates how your data has to be protected.
The people who are able to access your data for verification purposes are, for example:
- the safety committee that monitors the research;
- people who check the quality of the research (a monitor or inspector who works for the researcher or client);
- (inter)national supervisory authorities, such as the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ).
